How to Build Self Discipline to Excel in Life -Tech4Task4C

A dam is built on the bank of a river to control the water of the river and prevent the river water from overflowing and ruining the city. If the dam is not built, the city will be destroyed. In the same way, we can control our mind through self-discipline.

Our mind is like a knife.

A knife has two parts, one is the sharp surface and the other is the handle. You know that sharp edge is used to cut fruits and vegetables easily. Suppose you hold the knife by the sharp end instead of the handle.

No doubt you know the answer, you'll get hurt easily and you won't make the mistake of grabbing it with a sharp end. Our mind is always running around very fast and if it is not controlled, it will be just like holding a knife with a sharp end which can hurt you.

So today, I am going to share with you some great ideas on self-discipline from the book "Rajal Niti Time Management" written by Rajal Gupta. So let's begin.

What is self-discipline?

According to the author, self-control means forcing yourself to do something important that will brighten your future. Even if you don't like doing it or at least not at the moment.

For example, your exams are about to take place, but the cricket world cup is going on, in which matches between Pakistan and India are going to be played.

Your spontaneous reaction will be how can India lose a Pakistan match, that too in the World Cup. How you react to this situation is entirely up to you.

You can choose to watch matches and then you will not get good marks in exams or you can say to yourself “India has never lost to Pakistan in World Cup and may not lose today, but if I study don't do I may fail. "So it's better for me to study" and you choose to study and succeed.

Self-discipline requires giving up your immediate and momentary gratification. So that you can maximize your happiness in the long run. Here the author gives the example of his late grandfather who started a watch business with just a few watches.

At that time, he had the option of spending whatever he could save on himself or using his savings. protect and discipline himself to prosper in his business, so that he can provide a bright future for the family.

He chose the second option, with self-discipline, he gave up his immediate gratification in order to His family was happy in the long run.

Thanks to this sacrifice, many of his successors are living happily today. You have to practice self-discipline in every area.

Speaking of which, you have the option of either eating spicy food regularly for instant gratification, but in the long run, you will find that your digestive system and health deteriorate.

In the same way whatever savings you have, you can spend it on partying with your friends and in the long run you will find that you have nothing left in the name of savings.

Or, you can use your precious time for entertainment, watching TV and movies, listening to songs or taking a walk for instant gratification. While you can also use your time in studies.

And as a result in the long run you will find that you are completely behind in your studies.

A study was conducted on thousands of successful people to find out how they became so successful. The most important answer found in this study was that they also did not want to do hard work. In fact, they wanted to do simple things.

But they overcame all the fears and doubts in their minds, and they succeeded in accomplishing difficult tasks and setting new examples of success. It is the power of self-discipline that can help even a person of lesser ability achieve great success.

I agree and I know that self-discipline is very difficult to practice, but I also want to assure you that the results you can get through self-discipline are better than any other way.

Can't be done. In order to develop self-discipline, the author has also given some tips in his book, such as - First of all, ask yourself,

what will be the consequences if I continue to act in the same way?

And also ask yourself, do I control my mind or does my mind control me?

Do I have the remote control of my mind or does my mind have my remote control?

There is a saying that an apple a day keeps the doctor away. That means we have to eat an apple every day for 30 days in a month.

It is not permissible to not eat an apple from the first to the 29th of the month and to eat a total of 30 apples on the 30th day. This is neither appropriate nor possible. Similarly, if you want to excel in your studies, you have to study every day.

You choose small trouble or big trouble; It depends on you. If you don't watch your favorite program on TV during exams and studies, you may not feel happy at the time but later when you get good marks as a result of your studies, you will feel really happy in the long run.

So it makes sense to accept small problems so that you can be happier in the long run. Self-discipline is the ability to do what you think is right and should be done at the right time whether you want to do it or not.

This book "Rajal Niti Time Management" written by a young Indian writer  Gupta is a very useful book. We can easily implement the things mentioned in this book in our life and get great results in a very short time.

And above all, this book is written in plain English language, so I would definitely recommend this book to those who like to read books in English.
